The land was calm and peaceful. Green grass rolling into hills and forests rich and deep with uncorruption. Animals frolic carelessly around the people that inhabited their land and you didnt have to be a hunter to have the bond with one. War was not held and factions were not heard of. Humans walked leisurely along the sides of elves. And the city was full of light. So clean... So happy... So peaceful..
I hated it.
The night was harsh for the island in the middle of the ocean. The air was cold and the waters could be heard slapping the docks mercilessly. The storm blew out of nowhere that morning and hadnt let up all day, now it was well into the night and it still raged outside. The Elders were calling it a bad omen, that the Gods had finally left them in the dark, without the light of the moon or the sun to keep them safe from the shadows.
"Pfft.... If they didnt know then they know now, the elemts of the world were turning against everything. That what caused the storm... I hate them so much."
But even amongst the most firce storms, flowers still bloom. And that night a small elf girl was born. Under an unforgiving moon she was born, with eyes the color of blood. Her parents were afriad of her eyes in the dark. They believed they had some how angered the gods and in return had birthed a demon. But she smiled at them with love in her eyes and slowly the red changed to gold and when they did, the storm let up and the clouds drifted apart. And a full moon shown down onto their small home. With the moonlight hazing through the now open window it carrassed the cheek of the infant in its pale light. They named her Tyl. Meaning moon.
She grew quickly, surprisingly, she grew up two times as fast as all the other elves. Her parents believed it was a blessing. Everyone else thought she was a cursed evil being. They believed she soley was the one that was going to doom them all.
"Maybe they were right, maybe they were always right.."
She was aggressive. She hated the humans and soon her parents lost trade with them when Tyl would run outside with a new sword she had crafted trying to run them through. No one wanted to teach her a trade, they were all too afraid of her. She loved her parents though, her eyes were only golden when she looked at them. And one boy...
"Cundmaethor... How I..."
He was older then she, but at the rate she was growing it wouldnt be for long. She was the only other elf she let approach her. His name was the meaning of Warrior Prince. And she wanted to learn his fighting ways. He taught her in secret. He showed her the easy fluid movements of the blade. Together they sparred and they danced the dance of blades. Tyl gave her name an addition of Mojaes. All together she was Moon Striker. And her parents accepted it, at least... they did.
She had grown up a strong young woman. She was light on her feet and quick with her blade. Cundmaethor and her were inseperable. Together they dreamed of starting their own trade of weapons. To travel the oceans and find new lands. It was a beautiful fantasy.. But as Tyl's fate would have it again, the Elders finaly got their way. What she didnt know was the councilmen had held meetings with her parents. She was an off elf. Her balance too impure to be kept on their sanctuary home. Her thirst for blood was unquenchable as they put it. She had on more then one occasion killed her own neighbors. Most of them were humans, a few were elves. her parents had always looked the other way, but once they were threatend with banishment they quickly decided to open their eyes. Tylmojaes stood before her Elders with her sword drawn and a snarl on her lips, her eyes filled with hate, and the color of the blood she spilled. They told her she had a choice. Either die so they might aplease the gods and they could return to their normal lives. Or leave, and never return.
"You would think that choice was easy. It wasnt that harsh. And it could have been so much worse. But I had lost more then just my home. My parents disowned me, to save their own selves. The only people I ever felt love for. And my Cundmaethor... "
Tylmojaes put the harness she had crafted on her Gaurdian, Tion. The soft purple winged lion mount that was accustomed to their island. He stood quietly as she layed on his mane, gently stroking his fur. A small gryphon hatchling had lept up and sat on the saddle, he sqreed out to her and she patted him too. She was tieing on her only pack and her small anvil to Tion when Cundmaethor came up behind her quietly.
"I remember the look in his eyes. The plead in his voice... How I wish now I wasnt so prideful."
He wanted to go with her. But she simply told him that he could not. Instead he made a vow. And gave her a metal bracelt encrusted with jewels he had made himself for her. She promised to find a way to return, and together they could start their adventure.
"Doesnt it sound so sappy... -the sound of her sword hitting her shield can be heard- Its pathetic... How I use to be."
She left then. She flew across the ocean, to their sister harbor. And from there. Took the one way blimp to a city she had never heard of. The land of war, of blood, of honor. The land she was ment to be born from.
