The Calling of the Sea

#

My family use to live in Thunderbluff. Like any other tauren. That was where they started out. But the simple life of farming and tending to animals wasnt enough. Maybe it was the craving of adventure, or maybe they were just bored.... Yeah, I'm going to go with just bored.

They traveled away to the coasts of Kalimdor where my Dad got into a contract with a ship. I dont member the name, it couldve been called the S.S Utters for all I can remember. The ship was filled with trolls but the Undead ran the thing. Like an undead should. Anycase... It was a simple life at first for my folks. They started small but hard work always leads to good... usually. And in this case it did. My dad climbed ranks to be second in command. And for a while it was all they ever wanted. That was until I came along. Cow birth isnt exactly beautiful and I'm sure many trolls lost their lunch that day and I dont think it was due to sea sickness. I was born right on the ship. The rocking of the waves against the deck was my cradle and my legs were more steady on the moving ship then the land. Soon after though, Ma got sick. And nothing could be done to save her. but the tears arent in a life of a seaman. Many hardships and struggles come with it.

I grew up to be a pretty sturdy Tauren. And once I was old enough to take care of myself I left the ship to do their work on land. I delt with the customers, maps, coordinations. Sales. Travels and storm watchings. I kept charts on the money and the cargo. Where we were headed next and when we were due to arrive. I knew all the ships coming in and out, what they brought, who they brought and what they took and where. Even the Alliance ones. But thats the responsibilities of one such as I.... I guess.

Damn Arthas. It was his fault we were late to Booty Bay. The same time they wanted their shipment in was the same time Arthas' Undeads decided to cause trouble they attacked our ship and stole most of the goods, tore the sails clean off the posts. Our crows nest is still in the depths of the ocean to this very day I'm sure.

We got to Booty Bay late and the Goblin in charge there started yelling at us, our boat lay in ruins before him and we still had some of his goods but he didnt care. He called our captain a Bald bag of bones and me and my dad fat cows. I punted that little green bastard into the waters and he yelled for the gaurds. Me and my dad along with the captain and a few of the trolls fought them off as the others hastily repaired the sails good enough for us to escape. We fought them off as the boat begain to move with the winds and the current of the ocean. Turning and running we leapt apon the ship and kicked a few of the goblins off the deck that had somehow managed to make their way onto our ship. Now we're hated with them. Greedy little things. Oh well they never paid our trade enough anyways.
