(( Saltymike's Story ))
My parents lived in Thunderbluff. Like any Tauren they started there. But the simple life of farmers and animal tenders was not enough to satisfy them. maybe it was the need for adventure.. Or maybe they were just bored. Yeah, I'm going to go with just bored. So they took the few things they truely needed and set off to the coasts of Kalimdor.
There my dad met up with the captain of a ship. He was an undead and his entire crew consisted of trolls. I dont remember the name of that ship and I'm certain I never will. But he had signed my folks aboard and they started off swabbing the decks and hauling cargo. Which wasnt very bad work for a Tauren mind you, we're pretty strong. But it was a simple life and with a little hard work good things come.. usually. Anyways. My dad came to be the second in command and for a while everything was just right. They had everything they wanted and needed.
Now there is nothing pretty about cow birth and I'm sure a lot of trolls lost their lunch that day, but as many with a sailors life I was born right on the ship. I had no cradle but the gentle rocking of the oceans was good enough for me. My legs were sturdy apon the ships hull and I grew to be a pretty strong Tauren. My ma got sick though and there was nothing that couldve been done to cure her. But loss is a comon thing and I will not grieve for someone who is now free of pain and struggle.
Once I was old enough and able to care for myself I left the ship to work on the land. I keep papers with the lists of cargo. I kept track of where the ships were going and when they were to depart. What was on them and who was on them. The maps, the money, the times. The dates. I knew all of the Horde plus the Alliance ships. I knew all the coordinates to all the oceans and I could track the weather. It was a busy job but I didnt mind it. And I was free to hop onto the ship whenever I wished.
Damn Arthas, it was around the time of his uprising that his undead came and attacked our ship. It tore the sails clean off the posts. I'm damn well sure our crow's nest lay in the bottom of the ocean still to this day. We were making our way to Booty Bay with their shipment when we were over-run. We fought them off but we were late and some of the shipment was lost. When we arrived we were greeted by a very angry goblin. He called our captain a bald bag of bones and me and my dad fat cows. I punted that little bastard into the water. He called the gaurds and we fought them off as our crew hastily fixed the sails well enough for us to escape. Needless to say, we're now hated there. But it was no matter. Those greedy little bugs didnt pay us well enough anyway.
