Dust and Disappearance.

Drahna watched carefully as the swamp was being bug bombed by most of the Grin. Stonard, she was home, and the remnants of the nightmare she endured were fading into the muck. She watched Rode struggle with a gas mask and muffled his yelling. Home, she was home.

Months had passed since her ill fated tram robbery, and the Grin, as she was greatful for this, had moved on without her. It was as if she wasn't missed, and well she was happy about it. It meant they weren't looking for her, and they weren't worried either.

She had been an okay Raider, but by no means was she a good leader. That was for someone who liked to be out of the shadows and didn't want to observe quietly. There was by far no one to match her abilites at recon, but what good was that if she couldn't lead a battle? No, this was for the best. They weren't worried, so this wouldn't be so dificult.. would it?

Her eyes fell to the middle of the yard, where they would line up when she first signed up for this orc's army. A faint smile moved the corner of her tight mask as she remembered how dumb and naive she was once. She was suprised Pikki hadn't strangled her in her sleep for being so stupid. It was embaressing. And Axil, ah those memories creeped up again in her throat making it tight. She shook her head. She needed to keep that all locked away still, it was a fools gesture to think of it now.

No, now was the time for miracles. She had found peace in a shipwreck and was blessed to have gotten home in one piece. She touched the top of her mask, the scar burned deep under it over her nose and cheek, down her lip and across her chin. The creature she ran into, it had found her unworthy of peace. She needed to work for it now, find what her heart and soul really did need, and it wasn't being an emotional basket case as an army scout.

"Hey" a wrasp came behind her. Drahna froze and looked to see a forsaken mage, coated in dust and debree staring at her with no eyes. The blind thing looked through her, even though Drahna was well covered in the shadows. She let her guard down and looked at the dead and dusty woman.

"Yes?" Drahna said holding the blade in such a way to thrash at the creature before her.

"Yer in my target sssssspottt" the mage wrasped again and then a cough like Drahna had never seen in her days, filled the area. Smokey dust plumes flitered from the walking corpse. Her eyes were just empty holes with belts keeping her head together, and from every open crack came dust. Drahna blinked, she didn't look terrified, but she was more than a little bit desturbed.

When the mage cought her breath, or well stopped becoming a dust ball, she wiped her gown clean again.

"Did you hear me?" She wrasped in a voice like smoke was her only vocal tone.

"Um yes... sorry" Drahna said and turned. She moved back into the shadows, when the cloth fell from her belt. She had meant to leave it, but in the square, not on the rocks near the inn.

"Hey" the mage said again and scooped down to grab it. Drahna's tabard was far more prestine and neat then the dust covered, moth eaten and ancient one that the forsaken woman wore.

"Ya dropped this Grunt." the mage hissed through smoky lips. Dust poured from her very nostrils as she would choke out words.

"Um, yeah... doesn't belong to me. I found it." Drahna said and vanished into the shadows again. The mage narrowed her covered eyesockets as if looking for something, but it was gone. The woman was gone.

"Heh" Muerta choked and turned around. "Well..." she rubbed her bony fingers over the tabard. It felt whole, and clean. Something the mage hadn't felt in so very long. "Least I got a new one."

She said and pulled her tattered tabard off, wearing the one that Drahna had left. She returned to the ritual, belonging forever to her clan as the lost mage who was found in the box by mistake.
